# Send from several numbers in rotation

With sender rotation, Warsita picks which of your numbers sends each message. Every message goes out from the number that wrote to that person longest ago, so the people you message hear from your numbers in turn, and the sending is shared between them.

## When to use it

- You send more than one number should carry, such as reminders or order updates to many customers.
- You want sending to carry on when one number disconnects or is logged out.

Rotation is worth it once you have two numbers or more, and it is not part of the [free trial](https://warsita.com/help/free-trial). It does not make numbers safe from bans: see [Keep a number safe from bans](https://warsita.com/help/avoid-bans).

## Turn it on

1. For each number that should take part, open it in **Sessions**, go to its **Settings** tab and turn on **Rotation**.
2. Check the list in **Settings → Sending**. It shows every number in rotation and whether it is connected.
3. Send with rotation:
   - **From the dashboard:** in a new broadcast, choose **Rotation** as who it is from. See [Import contacts and send to a list](https://warsita.com/help/broadcasts).
   - **From your app:** send `"rotate": true` with a personal access token instead of a `session_id`. The [Send Messages docs](https://warsita.com/docs/messages#sender-rotation) have the details.

## How it picks a number

For each message, Warsita looks at the connected numbers with Rotation on and picks one that has never written to that person. If they all have, it picks the one that wrote to them longest ago. It remembers which number last wrote to each person for 12 months, even after you clear the message log.

If the picked number drops before the message goes out (it is logged out, banned, or disconnected for over a minute), the message moves to another number in rotation. Messages sent from one number without rotation wait for that number.

## The daily limit per person

When you send with rotation, each person gets at most 5 messages a day from the whole workspace, counted over the last 24 hours and across all your numbers. This keeps a mistake in your app from flooding someone from number after number. An owner changes the limit under **Limits** in **Settings → Sending**; 0 removes it. Past the limit, sending to that person answers `429 recipient_limit`, and a broadcast skips them.

## Why a message is not resent from another number

When a message is sent but not delivered, Warsita does not try again from another number, and there is no setting for it. WhatsApp does not tell a sender when someone blocked them, so an undelivered message often means the person does not want to hear from you. Reaching them from a different number is what gets numbers reported and banned, and our [Acceptable Use Policy](https://warsita.com/legal/aup) does not allow messaging people who asked you to stop.

The same goes for opt-outs: someone who replies STOP, BERHENTI or UNSUBSCRIBE to any of your numbers gets nothing more from any of them while **Stop on STOP** is on in **Settings → Sending**. See [who is skipped](https://warsita.com/help/broadcasts#who-is-skipped).
